Last night we went to Jaco, our nearest “big” town for a dose of faster Internet, beachside playground, and dinner at Green Room Cafe, a great restaurant picked by my sister Joanna to celebrate her awesome AP test scores.
The rain started and the power stopped just as we were finishing dinner, so we sat in the (artificial yet charming) candlelight and listened to the pounding rain meld with acoustic guitar. We were parked several blocks away and were trying to wait out the rain, but Theo started drooping so we decided to make a run for it. Joanna and I splashed our way down the sidewalk and arrived, soaked, just as the rain paused and all of the shop lights flashed on again.
Getting soaked in Costa Rica feels pretty amazing, given the usual heat. It was a good evening.
