At Theo’s request, we held his third birthday party at the beach. Brian and Theo made chocolate brownies, and we planned to use them to encourage other random children at the beach to join his party.
Unfortunately, there was only one other child within sight at the beach. Because of the language barrier, I think the parents thought we were just offering them food, and they didn’t end up joining us. Oh well. On the bright side, Theo has gotten pretty adept at ignoring language barriers, and he and the boy played together-ish for over an hour.
After the wind blew out the candles six times, (it must have been its birthday!), we gave up on that as well, and just enjoyed the brownies, strawberries, and sunshine.
