Our hosts moved this lizard from their house to the garden, where Theo and I were playing. The lizard was very still, probably hoping that we would go away. Theo declared that he was going to watch until it moved.
However, it turns out that this lizard had more patience than our four-year-old. (I’d venture that most lizards have more patience than most four-year-olds.) Theo ran off to put some toys in a tree, and when we returned a few minutes later, the lizard was gone.
We’ve been spending time in the garden most days – planting, watering, picking, burying, building, playing and exploring. It’s been lovely.
